The spirit’s petrified and horrifying face can be seen in detail using a sniper scope or the phone’s camera. Besides vanishing on approach, Jolene’s spirit does not interact with players. Players who wish to meet Jolene Cranley-Evans’ ghost, also known as the Ghost of Mount Gordo, can explore the mountain’s peak between 11pm and 12am. In GTA V, the ‘ghost’ had a name, proper lore and there is even a time frame where you can meet the ghost yourself. Apparently, the ghost took the form of an old Indonesian myth called Kuntilanak, also known as Pontianak in other regions. Players claimed to have seen a female entity in a white hospital gown wandering around The Vinewood Cemetery in San Andreas, but it was ultimately debunked by the community. What many thought was just a myth in GTA: San Andreas actually materialised in GTA V. Nowadays, it seems like the Herobrine wave has yet to leave the gaming community after it was revived on TikTok. The occurrence was so widely spread that Herobrine has become somewhat of a meme in the community, gaining popularity and spawning numerous artworks and animations. After a while, the rumour started to get so big that many people began sharing screenshots of them encountering the character with Herobrine edited into them. There was even another rumour that the pair of white pixelated eyes belongs to a character named Herobrine, who is popularly believed to be the deceased brother of Notch. Some people claimed that the Alpha v1.0.3 update that added ambient sounds in caves would trigger White Eyes to appear whenever it plays. Although it could’ve been anything, people at the time jumped at the opportunity to believe that there is a deviant character or a bug in the game.
